Okay, first I'll get the news part out of the way. According to Y!Gallery mods, they're in desperate need of someone to do maintenance. If they don't get someone soon, then unfortunately Y!Gallery will be shut down on Feb 14. ... happy V. Day, huh? I'm unsure if it will disappear or if it will be "read only" but in case EDIT: The entire site WILL be DELETED so be sure to save any and all things you like on that site just in case. They HAVE had a massive respond to the post, mostly pleads to stay, but it is still unknown if anyone has picked up the job.
Now onto the Epic Buy:
So with near 3 hours to kill before seeing The Mechanic. (Good movie,-NOT for the feint of heart or squeamish people. -Hand. Garbage disposal. Yeah. -_-) Kallipso suggested heading over to the used video game store that had recently opened. Kallipso laughed that someone had found Final Fantasy 7 there once so I was pretty excited that we may find something good there. Sadly the shelves were just okay and we were putzing around wasting time till the movie. Seeing a used DVD bin, we head on over and start digging through it. Since the bin was right next to the register, I happened to glance over and to my shock I saw a copy of Final Fantasy 8 behind the register. Rather hopeful but doubtful all the same, I ask the girl if it was on hold for a customer.
She replies that they only just came into the store and that they haven't been entered into the system so she couldn't sell them. ... Notice I said they and them! That's right, when she lifted up FF8 what should be below it but FINAL FANTSY SEVEN! EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEK!
Kallipso has a copy of FF7 (bought online at $50+SH) but her copy of FF8 is out of commission due to a family member accidentally destroying the last disc and I don't own any of them. So we're like "if you can't sell them, just give us a time and we'll defiantly come back!" when the other girl (we think was the manager) said "just go ahead and sell them.". The Clerk then goes, Okay. FF8 is $14.99 but FF7 is going to be $44.99 to which I replied that I didn't care seeing as we had been oogling over the near pristine black edition discs! Seriously, it's doubtful that these had even been played more than a few times! We think that maybe a non-gamer got them for a holiday or something and didn't realize what he had when he cleaned out the room/garage/storage/whatnot years later.
So she starts looking into the computer when she goes, "Ohh! Never mind, it's $24.99". EPICNESS! And as an added bonus was it was "buy 2 games get 2 games free!" So Kallipso and I had to dig through to find some other games worthy of getting next to FF7 and 8.
And the funny thing is... I don't even own a PlayStation any edition! :P
Needless to say, we almost missed the movie! LOL
